What do you think of when you hear the word ‘church’?
Do you think of stained glass or stale coffee or stuffy people? It’s an understandable perspective, but in the Bible, we see an entirely different picture of what the church is supposed to look like. It’s not a place, but a living and breathing body of believers who share experiences and live lives based on the teachings of one radical carpenter from Nazareth. His name was Jesus.
In the Bible, He tells us that His food is “to do the will of the Father.” He didn’t tell us to go sit in a room and learn more. He told us to go and to do. We believe that by following His example we grow closer to Him and to each other, and in doing so, we not only learn to recognize His voice, but we gain clarity on His call on our lives. It gives us purpose.
